Technology in Total Hip Arthroplasty: Recent Advancements
Technology in total hip arthroplasty (THA) encompasses various navigational and robotic devices employed to increase the accuracy of prosthetic placement during operations. Many such devices exist on the market today, attracting interest from both physicians and patients alike. This paper summarizes the main classes of navigation and robotic technologies employed during total hip arthroplasty, highlights the literature on the outcomes of their use, and discusses the pros and cons of using such technology in operations.
