Measuring the Impact of Community Policing in Jamaica
This paper summarizes my research findings concerning the statistical relationship between Community Policing in Jamaica in 2007 and the number of crime/criminal activities occurring in Jamaica’s local communities over time. I delineate the components of my overarching research finding that Community Policing is inversely proportional to the occurrence of crime. I provide recommendations based on my research findings to law enforcement, politicians, researchers and other government officials with particular interest in the efficacy of policing and crime in Jamaica. Finally, I briefly summarize the limitations of my research methods and findings.
