Manifesto — The Liminal Field / OttavaOra Project
Abstract (English) This Manifesto outlines the foundational principles of The Liminal Field, a research corpus within the OttavaOra Project dedicated to the study of consciousness as a multilayered informational field. It defines consciousness as a neutral resonance field, distinct from the mind, which functions as the recorder of the physical domain. Sleep is presented as an interface of interiority, while the liminal field is described as an operational architecture enabling the emergence of inner content through resonance rather than thought. The Manifesto introduces the concept of functional darkness as a surface of contact between interiority and the material world, and proposes the basis for a consciousness physics grounded in resonance, perceptual depth, traversal, and instantaneousness. OpenAIRE Extended Description This manifesto introduces The Liminal Field as a dynamic, reactivatable conceptual environment designed to operate across artistic, philosophical, and epistemic domains. It proposes a model of knowledge based on liminality, sub‑threshold perception, and energetic stratification, positioning the work as both a theoretical framework and an operational methodology. The text outlines a multidimensional approach to consciousness, where the fifth dimension functions as a connective layer enabling transitions between states, interpretations, and ontological gradients. Rather than presenting a static theory, the manifesto defines a living corpus intended for continuous activation, recomposition, and community‑driven expansion. By integrating symbolic systems, geologic/topologic metaphors, and principles of semantic continuity, the work aims to establish a shared field for research, artistic practice, and conceptual experimentation. Its structure supports interoperability with open scientific ecosystems, making it suitable for inclusion in OpenAIRE’s research graph and for cross‑domain indexing.
