Full‐Color Circularly Polarized Organic Afterglow Enabled by Tunable Triplet‐State Chirality via a Cascade Confinement Strategy
ABSTRACT Integrating long‐lived emission with circular polarization in organic room‐temperature phosphorescent materials has attracted considerable attention; however, achieving handedness inversion of triplet‐derived circular polarization remains challenging. In this study, we report full‐color circularly polarized afterglow transparent films constructed via a cascade confinement strategy. This approach employs fluorene‐grafted 1, 2‐diaminocyclohexane as a symmetry‐breaking chiral phosphor, β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD), and PVA as the primary and secondary confinement scaffolds, respectively, and water‐soluble fluorescein sodium (Fluc) and sulforhodamine (SR101) as acceptors. Notably, complexation of β‐CD with the R‐phosphor guest within the film induces a rare inversion of triplet‐state circular polarization handedness (lifetime, 1.68 s; quantum yield, 20.54%; |g lum |, 4.0 × 10 − 3 ) in conjunction with a four‐fold enhancement in signal intensity. This chirality inversion is further relayed via triplet‐to‐singlet Förster resonance energy transfer to generate circularly polarized delayed fluorescence with inverted handedness. These findings offer a novel pathway for designing materials with tunable triplet‐derived circular polarization and enable programmable, multi‐level anti‐counterfeiting applications.
