The genome sequence of the Small Dotted Footman, Pelosia obtusa (Herrich-Schäffer, 1847) (Lepidoptera: Erebidae)
<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of <ns3:italic>Pelosia obtusa</ns3:italic> (Small Dotted Footman; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Erebidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 635.51 megabases and 553.66 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.8%) is scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.43 kilobases. This work is part of Project Psyche, a collaborative programme generating genomes for European butterflies and moths. </ns3:p>
