Clinical effects of deep hyperthermia on patients undergoing postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy for colorectal cancer

OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of hyperthermia on the side effects of chemotherapy, inflammation, immune function, and quality of life in patients undergoing adjuvant chemotherapy following colorectal cancer surgery. METHODS: The effects of deep hyperthermia on adverse reactions to chemotherapy were evaluated by analyzing the occurrence of bone marrow suppression, nausea and vomiting, and liver damage during treatment. The impact of deep hyperthermia on the immune system was assessed by measuring inflammation and immune function biomarkers, including PCT, IL-6, C3, C4, and C1q. Additionally, the GIQLI scores before and after chemotherapy were compared to examine the influence of deep hyperthermia on patients' quality of life. RESULTS: < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Deep hyperthermia may make a difference in the side effects of chemotherapy, including thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, liver damage, and nausea as well as in the GIQLI scoring of patients.
