The Temporal Direction Topology Principle: Topological Phase and CPT on Non-Time-Orientable Spacetimes

We propose the Temporal Direction Topology Principle (TDTP): the time direction is a topological invariant of the Pin⁺ bundle of spacetime, characterized by w₁ᵀ ∈ H¹(M; ℤ₂). This is, to our knowledge, the first topological-constraint principle—a new category distinct from transformation principles (special relativity) and dynamical principles (general relativity). When w₁ᵀ ≠ 0, the ℤ₂ topological obstruction produces consequences through four hierarchical levels with graded necessity: (i) topological phase θ=π for fermions (θ=0 for bosons) from Pin⁺ holonomy, (ii) superselection sector decomposition of the fermionic Hilbert space, (iii) a different realization of the CPT theorem on non-time-orientable spacetimes, and (iv) a topological dissipator in the Lindblad equation yielding parameter-independent fermion–boson decoherence asymmetry R_FB=∞. The necessity between levels is graded: mathematical equivalence (i→ii), algebraic necessity (ii→iii), and conditional physical necessity (iii→iv). No level can be skipped. All results are falsifiable: R_FB=∞ by quantum decoherence experiments, CPT different realization by neutrino oscillation tests, and cosmological signatures by CMB-S4 observations. When w₁ᵀ→0, all topological effects vanish discontinuously, recovering standard quantum field theory.
