A comprehensive dataset of the historic built environment risk estimate under different climate scenarios for two counties in southern Norway
This data article presents a geospatial dataset of multi-hazard exposure and climate-based decay indices for historic buildings in two counties in southern Norway (Agder and Innlandet). The dataset is provided as ESRI shapefiles (.shp), with one record per building point and associated identifiers (cadastre building number and municipality code) and flags indicating whether the building is registered in Askeladden and/or the SEFRAK registry. For each building, the dataset includes five binary hazard indicators (flood, rockfall, landslide, snow avalanche, overgrowing; 1 = within the mapped hazard extent, 0 = outside) derived from spatial overlays with national hazard layers, and a summed multi-hazard count (0–5). Climate-based decay pressure is provided as a continuous index and as reclassified decay classes (low/medium/high) for three climate periods: a baseline (1971–2000) and two projection periods (2031–2060; 2071–2100). A dimensionless combined screening indicator is included by combining the multi-hazard count with decay class for each period. The dataset supports GIS-based screening, comparative analysis across municipalities, and prioritization scoping for monitoring and maintenance planning for historic buildings, noting that hazard exposure is encoded as binary presence/absence and does not represent hazard intensity or probability.
