Documentary and podcast provide valuable insights for medical education

After navigating the medical profession for more than two decades, Dr. Khama Ennis, an emergency physician and former emergency room (ER) chief at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Massachusetts, wanted to examine the lived experiences of Black female doctors. She produced the donor‐funded documentary Faces of Medicine and a companion podcast that explore the stories of these women who make up just 2.8% of doctors in the United States but are hugely impactful for the populations they serve.
