Research progress in the prevention and treatment of Parkinson’s disease motor symptoms mediated by the endocannabinoid system
<p indent="0mm">Components of the endocannabinoid system are highly expressed in the basal ganglia and interact with dopamine, glutamic acid, and γ-aminobutyric acid energy signal transmission systems. Excessive activation of the striatal indirect pathway in Parkinson’s disease is associated with impaired ECS, and ECS-related drug therapy can improve motor dysfunction in PD, as well as exert anti-Glu excitotoxic and neuroprotective effects. Different exercise therapies have positive effects on relieving PD-related motor dysfunction, and affect the expression levels of endocannabinoids, cannabinoid receptor type, synthetases and metabolic enzymes. Therefore, this article reviews the current research status of exercise intervention to improve PD-related motor dysfunction by regulating eCBs, CBR and synthetases and metabolic enzymes in order to provide a reference for the research and development of PD therapeutic drugs and the improvement and promotion of noninvasive and comfortable physical therapy.
