Dimension-W as Physical Ground: Constraint Geometry, Observer Constitution, and the Structural Arrow of Time

Abstract This paper completes the formal derivation program of the Schoff Research Program's physics series by demonstrating that Dimension-W, formally developed as a universal constraint field in Schoff (2025b), provides the physical ground required by the scale dilation framework (Schoff & Claude, 2026a) and resolves two problems that standard physics cannot address from within its own foundations: the constitution of observer frames and the structural origin of the arrow of time. The paper proceeds through four formal results. First, we identify a consilience: the epistemic limit result of Dimension-W Book II — Model(S) < Complexity(C) — and the Invariant Agency result — H(S_{t+1} | S_t, C_t, M) > 0 — are structurally identical propositions arrived at from geometric and information-theoretic starting points respectively. This mutual derivability strengthens both results. Second, using the formal apparatus of Book II (the meta-constraint relation C ⊂ W, the viable state space V ⊂ Ω, and the state decomposition S = (P, B, C)), we formally ground the Observer-Constitution Proposition: a system constitutes an observer frame if and only if its C-component is nonzero — that is, if and only if ΔΦ > 0. Third, we demonstrate that the arrow of time — irreversibility — is a structural consequence of how the W-field governs constraint accumulation, not an assumption about initial conditions. The permanent, directional accumulation of constraint history within W-permitted configurations is the source of temporal asymmetry. Fourth, we identify the maximum propagation rate of constraint information through the W-field — c_W — as the candidate physical quantity from which the speed of light and the Lorentz transformation may be recovered as derived results, specifying the formal derivation steps required. The paper closes by stating the complete formalization of the Schoff Research Program's physics framework as a set of five axioms from which the main results follow. Keywords: Dimension-W, constraint geometry, observer constitution, arrow of time, scale dilation, ΔΦ, CRD, Lorentz derivation, temporal asymmetry, W-field, physical ground
