TRAFFICHAIN - Blockchain Based Traffic Penalty Management System

The management of traffic violations and penaltysystems faces significant challenges due to lack of transparency, manual processing, data manipulation risks, and inefficient communication between authorities and citizens. Traditional trafficmanagement systems rely on centralized databases, which arevulnerable to data tampering, delays in fine processing, and lackof real-time tracking of violations and payments. This paper presents ”TRAFFICHAIN– Blockchain BasedTraffic Penalty Management System”, a secure and transparentplatform designed to manage traffic violations, penalty records, and fine payments efficiently. The system integrates a web-basedinterface using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a backenddeveloped using Node.js and Express, and MongoDB for scalabledata management.Blockchain technology is incorporated to ensure tamper-proofstorage of violation records and payment history using smartcontracts. The system enables real-time violation reporting byauthorities, automated fine generation, QR code-based paymentverification, and secure ownership tracking of violations. Userscan view their violation history, make payments digitally, andreceive instant updates through real-time notifications. The proposed system enhances transparency, reduces fraud, improves operational efficiency, and ensures accountability intraffic management. Experimental evaluation demonstrates improved reliability, faster processing time, and higher data integrity compared to conventional traffic penalty systems.Index Terms—Blockchain, Traffic Management, Smart Contracts, Node.js, MongoDB, QR Code, Digital Payments, DataIntegrity, Violation Tracking
