Inorganic Manganese Bromide Glass‐Ceramics With Tunable Emission for White Light‐Emitting Diode and X‐Ray Imaging
ABSTRACT As an emerging class of semiconductor materials, metal halides have attracted widespread attention in recent years due to their excellent optoelectronic properties. However, most metal halides suffer from serious stability and toxicity issues. In addition, their photoluminescence difficult to be efficiently excited under blue light. Herein, we design and fabricate an all‐inorganic manganese bromide microcrystalline glass with tunable emission properties. The Cs 2 MnBr 4 nanocrystals (NCs)‐embedded glass exhibits high optical transparency, superior photonic performance, excellent stability, and good processability. These features highlight its great potential for white light‐emitting diode applications, showing high luminous efficiency and outstanding device stability. In addition, the Cs 2 MnBr 4 NCs glass exhibits excellent x‐ray‐excited luminescence performance, achieving an ultralow x‐ray detection limit of 265.4 nGy s −1 and an imaging resolution of up to 18 lp mm −1 . The glassy samples also possess outstanding radiation stability, enabling reliable x‐ray imaging even under high‐temperature, harsh environmental conditions. Its tunable emission color also provides a potential pathway toward realizing multicolor x‐ray imaging in the future. Overall, the Cs 2 MnBr 4 NCs glass exhibits great promise for both LED illumination and high‐resolution x‐ray imaging, providing a new pathway for developing multifunctional luminescent metal halide composites and advancing their applications in next‐generation optoelectronic technologies.
