Preparation of Ag 3 PO 4 /Ag 2 WO 4 Composite and Its Application in Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue

To investigate the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of Ag 3 PO 4 /Ag 2 WO 4 composite under simulated sunlight, the material was synthesized via a room-temperature co-precipitation method and subsequently evaluated. The structure and morphology of the as-prepared samples were characterized using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results revealed that the composite particles were predominantly nanoscale in size. Elemental mapping confirmed a uniform distribution of elements across the sample, and the characteristic structural features of the individual monomers were clearly observed. Photocatalytic performance tests demonstrated that under simulated sunlight irradiation, with a catalyst concentration of 1 mg/mL, the Ag 3 PO 4 /Ag 2 WO 4 composite exhibited degradation efficiency for methylene blue (MB, 2.5×10 -5 mol/L) that was 4.6 times higher than that of pure Ag 2 WO 4 and 1.7 times higher than that of pure Ag 3 PO 4 . These findings indicate that the synergistic effect between Ag 3 PO 4 and Ag 2 WO 4 significantly enhances the photocatalytic degradation performance. This approach offers a promising strategy for the development of high-efficiency, low-cost silver-based photocatalysts.
