Secure Medical Data Transmission in IoMT Using Hybrid Encryption and Steganography for Protected Health Information
In today’s healthcare landscape, the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) emerges as a transformative solution, integrating hooked medical devices and systems to enhance patient care, streamline processes, and enable remote monitoring. IoMT facilitates real-time data collection, analysis, and communication, revolutionising healthcare delivery by providing timely insights and interventions. However, with the generation of interconnected devices and the transmission of precise medical data, security concerns loom large. Existing challenges encompass vulnerabilities in data transmission, storage, and access control, posing risks to patient privacy and data integrity, ensuring confidentiality and integrity. Additionally, employing Hybrid-Iterative Wavelet Transform (HIWT)-based steganography embeds encrypted data into medical images for secure transmission. Through this comprehensive approach, the proposed methodology fortifies IoMT security, safeguarding sensitive medical information while enabling seamless data sharing and analysis.
