Evaluation of mortality-related laboratory parameters in admitted to emergency department in COVID-19 patients: A retrospective observational study

Aim: Our aim in this study is to show the relationship between laboratory parameters and mortality in COVID-19 patients. Methods: This study was designed retrospectively in COVID-19 patients admitted to the emergency department (ED) of a secondary unit care hospital. The relationship between laboratory parameters and COVID-19 mortality was examined by comparing with the survival group. We performed logistic regression analysis to investigate independent factors affecting mortality. Results: In total, 1519 COVID-19 patients were analyzed. While mortality was observed in 94patients (8,6%), survival was observed in 1003 patients (91,4%). D-dimer level was found to be higher and significant in the mortality group compared to the survival group [752.30 (1705.3) vs. 153.00 (282.0), p
