Neural Dynamics of Functional Low Entropy: A Falsifiable Bioinformational Framework for Conscious States
This work proposes a falsifiable framework linking neural dynamics, information theory, and consciousness. The concept of Functional Low Entropy (LFE) is introduced as a measurable regime characterized by intermediate synchronization and maximal metastability.\n\nNumerical simulations using the Kuramoto-Sakaguchi model demonstrate that while phase synchronization increases monotonically with coupling strength, metastability exhibits a non-monotonic profile with a clear maximum in intermediate regimes.\n\nThese findings support the hypothesis that conscious-like dynamics may emerge in regimes balancing integration and variability.\n\nThis work is released as a preprint and has been submitted to bioRxiv.
