Characterisation, Biological Screening and Efficient Ultrasound Synthesis of New Cyclic β-Diketones
Using a straightforward and practical technique, 1-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)-3-propane,1,3-diones 4(L1-L3) were created by applying the Baker-Venkatraman transformation to the matching 2-acetylphenyl benzoate using both conventional and ultrasonic irradiation. Spectral analysis, including IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV/Vis, mass, and elemental analysis, has been used to assign the structure of synthetic substances. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of the produced compounds were assessed. From an economic and environmental standpoint, this manipulation is highly intriguing due to the use of ultrasonic irradiation, straightforward reaction conditions, separation, and purification.
