Parainstinctual Memory: Emergence of Collective Orientation and the Relational Space of the Nouseux
This upload contains Version 2, corrected and revised, of the article *Parainstinctual Memory: Emergence of Collective Orientation and the Relational Space of the Nouseux* by François Reynaud, artist name François Renno. French title: *La mémoire parainstinctuelle : émergence d’une orientation collective et espace relationnel du Nouseux.* The article introduces the concept of parainstinctual memory to describe the relational process through which a shared orientation emerges from the interaction of compatible traces of experience before explicit formulation, planning, or negotiation. It also proposes the Nouseux as the relational space of implicit compatibilities that enables this emergence. Drawing on collective musical improvisation, expert cooperation, artistic practice, phenomenology, distributed cognition, tacit knowledge, habitus, joint action, participatory sense-making, group flow, and complexity theory, the article offers a heuristic vocabulary and outlines a research program for future empirical investigation. Version 2 strengthens the conceptual definitions, clarifies the distinction between coordination, synchronization, and orientation, corrects the formal heuristic model, links formal variables to possible empirical proxies, expands the theoretical positioning, adds conditions of failure including power asymmetry, and includes an analytic vignette of collective musical improvisation. The article is presented as a heuristic and theoretical contribution rather than as a completed empirical validation. DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.20603522
