Development of HRPF (Human Residual Presence Field) Sensor

This paper presents the Development of Human Residual Presence Field (HRPF) sensor, a novel sensing framework designed to overcome limitations of single module sensors like Passive Infrared (PIR) and mmWave Radar. While existing solutions excel at motion detection , they frequently fail to detect stationary subjects or provide an all-clear precise confirmation in complex environments such as mining field. The HRPF system utilizes a multi-modal fusion architecture which combines: Radio Frequency / mmWave Radar for barrier penetration and fine motion sensing. Thermal Sensing for detecting static heat produced by human body Airflow Sensing to detect subtle "residual presence" or living presence confirmation that distinguishes human heat from other objects. A key innovation of this work is the implementation of adaptive weighting logic and multi-modality fusion of sensor to analyze the residual heat signature left in a spac. This conceptual analysis tool approach provides high-reliability for critical applications such as mining activity, disaster rescue and privacy-centred areas monitoring.
