Interest and Limitations of Core–Shell Shaping of Heterolanthanide-Based Coordination Polymers
stands for benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate) have been successfully used as luminescent markers for materials traceability. Interest and limitations of core-shell shaping are highlighted. Indeed, on the one hand, it paves the road to new potential applications that are impossible to address with classical molecular alloys, and on the other hand, intrinsic constraints make them irrelevant for other applications. Additionally, this study shows that the interest of the core-shell shaping highly depends on the intermetallic energy transfer and, therefore, on the donor-acceptor pairs that are involved.
