Pixels to Polygons: A Mobile-Driven Photogrammetry Pipeline for Controlled 3D Reconstruction

This paper presents a lightweight photogrammetry pipeline that enables users to capture multiple images using a mobile device and reconstruct a 3D model using a desktop-based processing system. The proposed system bridges mobile data acquisition with desktop computational capabilities through a network-based architecture. Due to limitations in real-time reconstruction on consumer hardware, a controlled reconstruction strategy is introduced to ensure stability and responsiveness during demonstrations. The system incorporates a user-friendly interface, real-time status feedback, and efficient data transfer mechanisms. The objective of this work is to explore the integration of mobile imaging and desktop photogrammetry workflows in a constrained yet interactive environment.
