Serious infection risk of certolizumab compared with other systemic therapies in women with psoriasis
In this cohort study of 11,034 treatment episodes from the BADBIR register, we evaluated the risk of serious infection associated with certolizumab compared with other systemic treatments in women with psoriasis aged ≤50 years. After inverse probability weighting and recurrent event modelling, certolizumab was associated with a higher risk of serious infection compared with adalimumab and ustekinumab. Although residual confounding by indication and slight age imbalance cannot be excluded, these findings suggest a modestly increased infection risk with certolizumab in this population.
