Cultural competence and conflict prevention
ABSTRACT: Nurse leaders play a pivotal role in addressing cultural conflict within today's increasingly diverse workforce. As health care organizations navigate varied cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and communication styles, proactive leadership and organizational commitment are essential to fostering a respectful and collaborative environment. Culturally competent leadership not only mitigates conflict but also enhances psychological safety, supports staff well-being, and contributes to improved retention. This article examines the influence of cultural differences on workplace dynamics and highlights leadership strategies that promote inclusion, strengthen team cohesion, and reinforce a positive organizational culture that ultimately improves both patient care and employee satisfaction.
