BLACK FEMINIST FICTION AS ARCHIVE
This study employs a qualitative research design to examine the uses of Black feminist speculative fiction as an alternative archive. Through close readings of selected texts, I will interrogate the ways Gloria Naylor constructs alternative archives that resist the epistemological constraints of traditional archival practices. This study will explore how speculative narratives illuminate gaps, silences, and absences within institutional records. This paper seeks to demonstrate that Black feminist speculative fiction not only documents but also theorizes Black life, offering critical thought surrounding knowledge production, cultural preservation, and the politics of representation.
