A Complete X-ray Spectral Survey of ISP BL Lac Objects in the 4LAC-DR3 High-Confidence Catalog: Evidence for a Rare Spectral Hardening Class
We present the first complete X-ray spectral survey of all 347 ISP BL Lac objects in the 4LAC-DR3 high-confidence catalog using archival Swift-XRT data. Of 347 targets, 242 had sufficient data for analysis, yielding 220 Class-S (spectral softening) and 14 Class-H (spectral hardening) objects. Only one object — 1WGA J0506.6-0857 — exhibits statistically significant spectral hardening (p=0.037, β=2.11, r=0.90). The rarity of Class-H objects (0.4% statistically significant) is quantitatively consistent with the ΔP_Ma Hypothesis, which predicts that spectral hardening arises from resonant vacuum energy amplification at cosmic Ma (間) boundaries. This catalog constitutes the first population-level X-ray spectral baseline for ISP BL Lacs and identifies 1WGA J0506.6-0857 as the highest-priority new IceCube multi-messenger follow-up target.
