Synthesis of Chiral Ag Nanostructures: Wet‐Chemical Methods and Physicalfielddriven Methods
Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) have attracted considerable attention due to their exceptional physicochemical properties. Among them, chiral Ag NPs exhibit distinctive chiroptical activity; however, their development remains at an early stage because of inherent synthetic challenges. This review aims to summarize the predominant strategies for the synthesis of chiral Ag NPs. We begin with a brief overview of conventional Ag NP synthesis, including both wet‐chemical and physical methods. Building on this foundation, we then discuss the incorporation of dissymmetric factors into these approaches to generate chiral structures. Given the challenges associated with direct chiral synthesis, we first examine template‐guided self‐assembly, a robust strategy in which achiral Ag NPs are organized into chiral superstructures using various templates. Subsequently, we highlight recent advances in the synthesis of discrete chiral Ag NPs mediated by chiral‐inducing factors (e.g., ligands). Beyond these wet‐chemical methods, physical field–driven approaches are briefly summarized. Collectively, these strategies provide a solid foundation for unlocking the potential of chiral Ag NPs in future applications.
