Carbon Dots Embedded Silica Molecuraly Imprinted Polymer/AgNPS‐Cysteine and Fluorescent Probe for Visual Detection of 3‐Monochloropropanediol in Crude Palm Oil

ABSTRACT The polymer was attached to silica‐embedded blue carbon dots as the core shell. The polymerization process was carried out using the sol–gel method, with (3‐aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) serving as the monomer, tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as the crosslinker, and 3‐MCPD as the template. The reaction was catalyzed by ammonia solution at room temperature. The polymer obtained was found to bind specifically to 3‐MCPD, enabling visual observation through the presence of an Ag‐Cysteine composite. The linearity of BCD@SiO2@MIP was found to be 0.9677, indicating that the quenching of BCD@SiO2@MIP depended on the concentration of 3‐MCPD. The imprinting factor (IF) of prepared MIP was 3.04, exhibiting prominent recognition sites. The prepared fluorescent sensor was applied for 3‐MCPD detection in crude palm oil (CPO) and revealed decent results compared to existing methods.
