Advancements and Prospects in Injectable Hydrogel for the Recovery of Heart Failures

ABSTRACT Heart failure ( HF ), which affects 60 million people globally each year, is a major public health issue, especially when caused by myocardial infarction ( MI ), leading to high morbidity and mortality. While treatments such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and heart transplants exist, they often do not provide long‐term functional recovery. Injectable hydrogels offer a promising, minimally invasive alternative by supporting the infarcted heart tissue, enhancing regeneration, and enabling drug delivery. This review explores the role of hydrogels in post‐ MI HF, highlighting their potential benefits, current limitations, and future possibilities for advancing hydrogel‐based therapies in the pharmaceutical landscape. Finally, this review will discuss the limitations and potential future advances in the use of injectable hydrogel therapy for post‐ MI HF to inspire the development of innovative treatment approaches.
