Eastern range extension of the band-winged grasshopper Pusana rugulosa (Uvarov, 1921) (Insecta: Orthoptera: Acrididae) in India
This study reports the range extension of Pusana rugulosa to Assam northeastern India, based on 13 specimens collected in 2024 from Dibru-Saikhowa Biosphere Reserve. Previously known from northern and northwestern India, this finding represents the easternmost record of the species and the first report of the genus Pusana from the state. The apparent distribution gap is thereby reduced, indicating a wider range than earlier documented. In addition to confirming its occurrence in Assam, the male and female genitalia of the species are also described.
