Prospects of using high-purity LiF crystals as corrective light filters in optical systems of devices

The purpose of this work is to substantiate the possibility of using LiF crystals as corrective light filters for optical devices of various purposes. Corrective light filters perform the function of bringing the spectral sensitivity of the devices to the normalized function of the relative spectral light efficiency of radiation. For these tasks, as a rule, standard optical glass is used in the form of single light filters or in the form of systems based on these elements. As a result, this technical problem is solved imprecisely and with significant losses in the amount of radiation reaching the receiver. We propose to use high-purity LiF crystals for the practical implementation of such a task. Due to the fact that the transmission capacity of LiF single crystals is quite sensitive to the presence of certain types of structural defects – radiation defects and dislocations, it is possible to influence the shape of the spectrum passing through the optical system of the device both in terms of amplitude and localization on the axis of wavelengths. Specific recommendations are given regarding the artificial introduction of these defects into high-purity LiF crystals for the predicted effect on their performance as elements of the optical system of devices. It is proposed to use the plastic deformation of crystals, which play the role of functional materials for the development of optical elements, for flexible correction of radiation spectra by amplitude. Moreover, as shown in the work, in this way it is possible to both decrease and increase the amplitude of the spectrum. Regarding work with the shape of the spectrum, it is proposed to use optical absorption bands that are formed in LiF crystals as a result of their radiation treatment. The localization of these bands on the axis of wavelengths depends on the dose of x-irradiation, which causes the appearance of color centers in the material - free resonators responsible for absorbing energy in the optical range due to their resonant response to electromagnetic excitation.
