Operational Proxy for Plateau-Sector Transition Dynamics from Open Quantum Hall Data
This repository contains the analysis code and processed data associated with the manuscript “Operational Proxy for Plateau‑Sector Transition Dynamics from Open Quantum Hall Data.” The work introduces a simple, experimentally accessible estimator for detecting instability and restructuring of transport sectors in quantum Hall systems. The proxy is defined as the derivative of a steady‑state transport observable with respect to a swept control parameter, providing a kinetic diagnostic that complements standard topological classification. Using publicly available supplementary data from Zhou et al. (Science 381, 427–430, 2023), we extract late‑time longitudinal currents for several atom numbers and compute the transition‑rate proxy via finite differences. The resulting curves reveal localized peaks that mark rapid reorganization of transport branches. Because the dataset is sparse in both atom number and control‑parameter sampling, the analysis is presented as a methodological demonstration rather than a scaling study. This repository includes: • scripts for extracting steady‑state currents from the published time traces, • numerical routines for computing the transition proxy, • figure‑generation code, and • processed data used in the manuscript. All raw experimental data originate from the publicly available supplementary materials of Zhou et al. (2023).
