Paper 12: Thermal Elastocapillary Structures on the S³ Membrane: Thermal Gauge Response, Thermal Gravitational Backreaction, Bekenstein–Hawking Thermodynamics, and the Hagedorn Threshold
This paper formulates the thermal sector of the S³ membrane in an elastocapillary language. The basic thermal energy variable is T S, and it leads to two distinct lengths. The cross‑sector length L_T^(G) = G (T S)/c⁴ measures the gravitational indentation produced by thermal energy, while the within‑sector thermal gauge length L_T^(φ) = K_t S / T = (ħ c S)/(k_B² T) measures thermal self‑confinement. The universal trade‑off relation is L_T^(G) λ_T = ℓ_P², λ_T = ħ c/(T S). The thermal gauge response is a rank‑one normalised potential deformation δΣ̂_μ = (Φ_T/T) k_μ = (L_T^(φ)/r) k_μ, whereas the gravitational response of the same thermal energy is rank‑two, h_μν^(T,G) = 2 (L_T^(G)/r) k_μ k_ν. The latter is exactly the Kerr–Schild Schwarzschild form for a source of mass‑energy M_T = T S/c². Thus the rank‑one and rank‑two thermal structures are not competing descriptions: the former is the thermal gauge potential, and the latter is the metric backreaction of thermal energy. The Bekenstein–Hawking product satisfies T_H S_BH = ½ M c², L_T^(BH) = G T_H S_BH / c⁴ = R_g/2. The extremal condition L_T^(G) = λ_T gives T S = E_P, identifying the Hagedorn threshold with the Planck elastocapillary instability. The paper also gives a normalised correspondence between the thermal Maxwell sector and thermal membrane strain, and states condensed‑matter analogues as possible signatures unless an explicit material response calculation is available.
