A Novel Autonomous Navigation Assistant For Solo Riders

This paper presents a hands-free autonomous navigation assistant designed for solo two-wheeler riders to enhance road safety and reduce rider distraction. The system integrates Google Maps Directions API, voice-to-text input, Bluetooth communication, and a NodeMCU (ESP8266) microcontroller to deliver real-time LED and haptic feedback as navigation cues. Instead of relying on smartphone screens, riders receive visual signals through mirror-mounted LEDs and tactile vibrations through handlebar haptic motors for early turn indication, arrival confirmation, and missed destination alerts. The proposed system demonstrates lower rider distraction, better sunlight visibility, and independent battery operation compared to conventional smartphone-based navigation methods
