A Multispectral‐Decoupled Metastructure for Simultaneous Camouflage Across Visible, Infrared, Laser, and Microwave Bands

ABSTRACT With the rapid progress in multispectral detection technology, conventional single‐band camouflage has become insufficient to meet contemporary camouflage demands, making the development of advanced multispectral camouflage imperative. In this work, an innovative multispectral‐decoupled strategy is proposed for simultaneous camouflage in the visible, infrared, laser, and microwave bands. Measurement results reveal that the camouflage prototype successfully achieves decoupling imaging between visible and infrared along with reflection reduction for both laser and microwave. Specifically, in the visible spectrum, multicolor patterns are achieved by modulating the thickness of the topmost Ta 2 O 5 layer; for laser camouflage, the colored pixels exhibit ultra‐low reflectivity below 0.1 at both 1.06‐ and 1.55‐µm; in the infrared regime, multi‐level digital camouflage patterns are clearly discernible under infrared imaging, supported by an emissivity contrast exceeding 0.1 among distinct infrared pixels; regarding microwave camouflage, a reflection level of −10 dB is maintained across a broad frequency range of 7.6–16.3 GHz. To the best of our knowledge, this work showcases a competitive edge in multispectral camouflage that encompasses the visible, laser, infrared, and microwave ranges, along with applications in anti‐counterfeiting and information encoding.
