Method of partial health disabilities integral assessment in industrial workers: methodological and applied aspects
The decline in the working-age population and the high prevalence of chronic non-communicable diseases necessitate the development of tools allowing to assess workers’ health objectively and identify risk groups in a timely manner. The integral indicator of partial health impairment (PHI), which considers a combination of clinical and demographic factors, could be one of such tools. Objective. To develop a method for calculating the integral indicator of partial health impairment in order to identify risk groups and establish personalized programs of prevention and medical care for industrial employees. Materials and methods. The proposed technique for calculating PHI is based on multidimensional grouping and standardization of a set of key health indicators using weighting coefficients and the Euclidean distance estimation method. Results. The proposed method is characterized by high sensitivity to factors affecting health of employees. This technique can be used to identify groups of persons in need of active medical intervention and to determine dominant risk factors. Conclusion. The partial health impairment indicator is a simple, reproducible and informative tool that can be used in corporate wellness program and development of prevention programs in industry.
