Taxonomic and nomenclatural notes on species of Croton section Barhamia subsection Medea
Croton section Barhamia is one of the most species-rich sections of Croton, with about 80 species found in the West Indies, Central and South America. It is divided into five subsections, among which the Medea subsection stands out. During taxonomic revision of this subsection, we came across some nomenclatural problems and species delimitation issues. As a result, we propose nine new synonyms and the lectotypification of 18 names.
