9-Keel Unified Theory Series: Diabetes Mellitus

This work is part of the 9-Keel Unified Theory Series, presenting a unified theoretical interpretation of Diabetes Mellitus based on the TOFD framework. This paper proposes a falsifiable, unified model for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus. It hypothesizes that insulin deficiency is the primary mechanism, distinct from the prevailing concept of insulin resistance. Hyperglycemia is proposed to reflect Total Insulin Functional Deficit (TIFD). The model explains both forms of diabetes through insufficient insulin function rather than autoimmunity or cellular resistance, unifying their pathophysiology under the single 9-Keel framework. It demonstrates that the system’s failure to manage glucose is a theoretical consequence of repair capacity being overwhelmed by functional debt. Abstract
