Transition Metal‐Catalyzed Functionalization of Nonallylic Alkenyl Alcohols via Chain‐Walking Strategies
Transition metal‐catalyzed chain‐walking reactions have emerged as a powerful and valuable strategy for the construction of highly functionalized organic skeletons. While considerable efforts have been focused on transformations of allylic alcohols, remote functionalization of nonallylic alkenyl alcohols is less explored and has attracted great attention in recent years due to the unique mechanistic pathways and ready construction of diverse organic frameworks. This minireview highlights recent advances in chain‐walking reactions of nonallylic alkenyl alcohols, catalyzed by various transition metal species, including palladium, ruthenium, rhodium, iridium, and nickel.
