An Ultra‐High Gain Z‐Source DC–DC Converter With L−C−D Cell and Voltage Pumping Technique

ABSTRACT This work presents a novel DC–DC‐type Z‐source converter topology that significantly achieves higher voltage gain compared to its contemporary topologies. The topology presented in this paper is a voltage pumping Z‐source converter merged with an L−C−D cell. With the modified structure, the converter has lower voltage stress in diodes and capacitors along with high voltage gain. Comprehensive mathematical analysis has been conducted to determine the voltage gain, efficiency while considering the impact of non‐idealities such as switching losses and parasitic elements. The converter's performance is validated through simulations demonstrating close alignment with theoretical predictions. The stability analysis of the converter has been performed and the closed loop system with the controller, derived by K‐factor method, is found to be stable. Finally, a hardware prototype has been developed in the laboratory to validate the theoretical and simulation results. The experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed converter, making it a promising solution for high‐gain power conversion applications.
