Molybdenum/Niobium Disilicide Multilayers Fabricated by Tape Casting: Microstructure, Mechanical Properties and Oxidation Behaviour
. Silica inclusions responsible for lowering the material toughness, were observed to disappear in the sintered silicides, thanks to the presence, during the binder burn-out, of a reducing atmosphere and to the carbonaceous residua. The phase and composition analysis also revealed the formation of small amounts of secondary phases like silicon carbide.
