Dharmani Approved Formulations Corpus: A 214-SKU AYUSH-Licensed Ayurvedic Manufacturing Dataset (2012–2023) with Ingredient-Level Disclosure

The Indian Ministry of {AYUSH} grants manufacturing licences to Ayurvedic proprietary-medicine manufacturers under Form 25-D of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945. Each approval in principle produces a structured formulation record — ingredient list with botanical names and quantities, dosage form, indications, preparation method, approval date — but in practice these records are filed with State-level Licensing Authorities and are not aggregated, published, or released in machine-readable form at the national level. We contribute the first public corpus of AYUSH-licensed proprietary Ayurvedic formulations with per-formulation ingredient-level disclosure: 214 formulations approved under AYUSH Manufacturing Licence 424-ISM(HR) to Dharmani Health & Fitness, Gurugram, over the period 2012–2023. Each record includes the formulation's English and Hindi (Devanagari) names, category (Patent/Proprietary or Classical), dosage form, approval date (where recorded), indications, the complete ingredient list with extracted botanical Latin names and quantities, the preparation method, and an internal quality/cost tier. The corpus captures 353 unique botanical Latin names with an average of 9.1 binomials per formulation. The ten most-frequent botanicals are Withania somnifera (86 formulations), Asparagus racemosus (58), Phyllanthus emblica (44), Zingiber officinale (40), Piper longum (35), Asparagus adscendens (34), Pedalium murex (33), Curcuma longa (32), Terminalia chebula (30), and Azadirachta indica (28). Five concrete usage pathways are described: (i) ingredient-frequency analysis, (ii) form–indication association mining, (iii) cross-referencing to the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India, (iv) bilingual Ayurveda NLP, and (v) single-manufacturer regulatory-trend analysis. A commercial-protection exclusion framework is documented to enable future manufacturer contributions. The dataset is released under CC BY-NC 4.0; commercial reuse requires a separate licence from Dharmani Health & Fitness.
