[Working Paper] From Personality to Productivity: An Exploration of Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and People Preferred Conflict Resolution Strategies in Simulated Group Settings
Using Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) for various purposes such as career guidance or recruitment has become quite common. Although some people are concerned about the validity of its results and the limitations of the MBTI test itself, there are many studies on team collaboration among people who have different personality types based on the MBTI. This research consists of two phases. The first phase focuses on how people with opposing personality types, categorized by the MBTI, may experience conflicts or discomfort when working together. The second phase explores more deeply and broadly how multiple personality types interact during discussions. The research revealed a connection between MBTI and Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument in both phases of the study. Participants in this study had varying ages and levels of experience.
