Clinical Outcomes and Patterns of Neurological Toxicity After Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy Reirradiation (reSBRT) of Spine Metastases Previously Treated with SBRT

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) provides improved pain response and local control for spinal metastases. However, management of local failure after initial SBRT is challenging. We report institutional outcomes, dosimetry, and toxicity for reSBRT following SBRT. METHODS: ) using the linear-quadratic model (α/β = 2). RESULTS: > 108 Gy. CONCLUSIONS: ReSBRT provided a favorable LC with acceptable toxicity. High cumulative dose to the thecal sac and nerve roots may contribute to neurologic toxicity as peripheral nerve injury.
