When the Panic Pendant Dies: Edge-Native IoT as the Gateway to Preventive Healthcare
Position paper examining the failure of reactive IoT health monitoring (panic pendants, fall sensors) and proposing edge-native preventive health systems as replacements. Argues that the current elderly care model — alert after crisis — must transition to continuous, sovereign health digital twins that predict and prevent. Grounds the argument in Swedish municipal care statistics and WHO quality of life dimensions.
