Oral health considerations in older patients with head and neck cancer
As the population ages, more older adults are living with head and neck cancer, and are presenting with complex dental needs shaped by age-related changes, cancer therapies and significant comorbidity. Understanding treatment side effects, barriers to access and impacts on oral health-related quality of life enables dental teams to provide effective support for their older patients with head and neck cancer. CPD/Clinical Relevance: Guidance for primary care dental teams is valuable when supporting older adults before, during and after head and neck cancer treatment.
