As AI moves into psychiatry, clinicians debate benefits, limits and risk

The promise of artificial intelligence (AI) in psychiatry is colliding with the realities of clinical practice. Abstract

The promise of artificial intelligence (AI) in psychiatry is colliding with the realities of clinical practice. While most psychiatrists are not yet using AI tools in their day‐to‐day work, interest in the technology is rising. A recent survey of American Psychiatric Association (APA) members found that although most psychiatrists are not currently using artificial intelligence in clinical practice, those who do tend to be optimistic about its potential role in psychiatry.
