Destructive Mold Osteomyelitis of the Wrist Caused by Scedosporium apiospermum—A Case Report
osteomyelitis in immunocompromised patients is a major challenge for reconstructive surgeons. Interdisciplinary management is essential as mold eradication is only achievable through a combined surgical and antimicrobial approach. In advanced destructive osteomyelitis, the choice between limb salvage and amputation should be individualized, considering patient comorbidities, reconstructive risk, and patients' preferences. This case highlights the importance of balancing careful indication and patient counseling in complex clinical scenarios.
