The impact of cognitive stress on vascular response and force steadiness during a handgrip task in males and females
The impact of performing a stressful cognitive task simultaneously with a motor task is not well understood. We showed that handgrip force steadiness and vascular control were reduced in the presence of a stressful cognitive task, particularly at a very low contraction intensity, in males and females. Motor performance and mechanisms involved under this combined demand can differ from a task performed in isolation.
