Disparities in paediatric-eligible vitiligo clinical trials
In a cross-sectional analysis of completed paediatric-eligible vitiligo trials, we evaluated reporting of race/ethnicity, Fitzpatrick skin type and age using data from ClinicalTrials.gov and associated publications. Among 10 trials enrolling 1475 participants, demographic reporting was inconsistent, with most participants being White, limited representation of individuals with skin of colour and no age stratification for children younger than 13 years. These findings highlight persistent under-reporting and under-representation in paediatric vitiligo research, underscoring the need for standardized demographic reporting and more inclusive recruitment strategies.
